Turn a frown upside down

Leslie Sykes, anchor, Eyewitness News said it best this morning, "Turn that frown upside down." Educators in many parts of the world are returning back to school after a much needed vacation. I've seen a lot of post from teachers dreading this day. Why? I understand there may be issues out of your control but for those that are controllable, here's something to reflect on: My former principal used to always encourage us teachers to use the phrase, "I get to..." Rather than say, "I have to go to work." turn it around with, "I get to go to work." You might be surprised by the visions that cross your mind if you weren't employed. Real talk. So, turn that frown into a smile and model it for your students. Without a doubt, our chosen career is tough, but press on Gladiators! Thought for the day:
You are in charge of changing today's forecast. Your smile may be the only sunshine your students see and feel.
